Here is a draft video script formatted as if you are telling your progress:

Hello everyone, I wanted to give you an update on my personal knowledge management journey and how I've been working to compound my knowledge over the past year.

When I first started, my biggest challenge was that all the knowledge I had gained over 20 years in my career was very scattered and fragmented. It was stored in all sorts of places - books, papers, online documents. I was spending too much time trying to find and relearn things I already knew.

I tried different methods to improve my memory like speed reading and brain apps, but it wasn't really helping me build upon what I had learned before. That's when I discovered the concept of personal knowledge management and using a "Second Brain" approach.

Tools like Obsidian really excited me because I saw how I could start connecting all my knowledge together in one place. I dove deep into resources on building a Second Brain from people like Tiago Forte. Two frameworks really helped me get structured - PARA for organizing my notes, and CODE for processing information.

PARA showed me how to categorize my content into Projects, Areas, Resources and Archives. This made everything so much easier to navigate. CODE - for Capture, Organize, Distill and Express - gave me a workflow to ingest all my existing knowledge from books and notes using plugins, and to prepare it so I could leverage it later on.

Summarizing my learning into progressive summaries during the Distill stage has been incredibly useful. It means when I go back to a topic, I have the essence right away. I've already found this so helpful on multiple occasions.

I've also really enjoyed the Express part of CODE where I take what I've learned and teach it, write about it, or include it in presentations. This is where I really start to see my knowledge compounding. By having to explain it to others, it consolidates deeper in my brain.

Now I feel like I'm learning and working so much more efficiently. For example, when recently putting together presentations, I was able to cut weeks of preparation time down to just days or hours since I had this huge bank of compounded knowledge to draw from in Obsidian.

So in summary, personal knowledge management has been a total gamechanger for me. I'm super excited to continue refining my system and seeing how else I can leverage the network of connections between ideas in my Second Brain. Thanks for listening, and let me know if any part of my journey has been helpful for you too!
